Law 101

In this seminar, students will be introduced to the American legal system through an examination of the sources of law in the United States, the relationship between federal and state law, review of the U.S. Constitution, investigation of the workings of the U.S. Supreme Court, and an exploration of the trial and appellate processes. The seminar will include case briefing, guest speakers, and visits to the Vigo County Courthouse and to the United States Courthouse in Terre Haute. Students will conclude the week with participation in a mock trial experience.
