My degree from ISU set me up for so many amazing opportunities and enabled me to go places that I never imagined myself going to - both literally and metaphorically. For example, just a couple weeks after graduation, I went to Finland with a team of researchers from ISU to learn more about the country's long-term care. A month after that, I took the knowledge I gained working on my Honor's thesis ("The Effects of the Vegan Diet") and went out to Los Angeles for 8 weeks to intern with an animal rights organization. Later that summer, I started graduate school at Indiana University, where I studied Public Health. I focused my research on healthy aging and international family policies - both things that my trip to Finland had made me incredibly passionate about. After completing my master's degree, I moved to Minneapolis, where I currently work at a non-profit advocating for healthy pregnancies. The experiences and knowledge that came from attending ISU have literally brought me around the world, and I am so grateful for each and every one of those opportunities. Wherever I end up next, I know I will owe much of that to Indiana State.
