1.   Application for admission

Complete and submit the online application.

• Fill out the application form completely.
• Use your name as it appears on your passport.
• It is vital to use the same name on all correspondence to ISU. Write clearly, and underline the family name under which all items are filed.
• If you do not have a U.S. social security number, leave this item blank, and the University will assign you a University identification number.
• Write your address as you would on an envelope to be mailed to yourself.
• Include your street and number (or post office box), city/US IP code, province/state/zone, postal code, and country.

2.   Application fee:   $25.00 (U.S.)

The application fee is payable by Visa, MasterCard, or check or international money order made payable to Indiana State University. Submit the application fee to the Office of Admissions, Indiana State University. Please note the application fee is non-refundable.

3.   Official transcripts and credential evaluation

Submit official or school certified copies of all academic records (transcripts) to:

4.   Demonstration of financial support

Financial support sufficient to cover a student's educational expenses for one (1) year must be demonstrated before the I-20 eligibility document is issued. See estimated expenses for amounts required.

All financial support documentation should be submitted to the Office of Admissions, Indiana State University.

• All applicants must submit this affidavit of financial support and an original bank statement with current information.
   
• Government sponsored applicants must provide an official or certified copy of the award, specifying validity for Indiana State University, listing the expenses and fees covered by the award, beginning and ending dates of study covered, the level/field of study, and the length of the award. The address for billing must also be included.

Those applicants who are academically eligible yet fail to provide adequate financial documentation will receive a letter. In some cases, applicants may be requested to deposit funds in an account with Indiana State University's Controller's Office.

5.   Demonstration of English Proficiency

Students must meet the English proficiency requirement by submitting official test scores or documentation of successful program completion from one of the following. For exceptions, see English proficiency exemptions.

Applicants who are not exempt must submit official scores that satisfy the following requirements to the Office of Admissions, Indiana State University. All scores should be reported from testing services directly to Indiana State University, institution code 1322.

• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
  
  Business majors: A minimum iBT score of 80; a minimum CBT score of 213; or a minimum paper-based test score of 550 ¹
  
  All other majors: A minimum iBT score of 61; a minimum CBT score of 173; or a minimum paper-based score of 500¹
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum score of 5.0 ²
• ELS Language Training Program: successful completion of level 109 ²
• Intensive Language Training: successful completion of an intensive language training program. Indiana State University offers this training through the Interlink Language Center.

NOTE:

¹ Applicants whose TOEFL scores are more than two years old will need to retake the TOEFL test—and submit new scores. For details (or to schedule a TOEFL test), visit www.ets.org

² Effective Fall 2013, required scores will be as follows: IELTS—6.0 (or higher); ELS—112 (or higher).
