Enrollment Checklist

FOR ENTERING FRESHMEN
Once admitted to Indiana State University, the following is a list of procedures
you must complete in order to make your experience at Indiana State successful.
Step 1. Confirm your intent to enroll.
Step 2. Sign up for New Student Orientation.
Step 3. Activate your MyISU Portal account.
Step 4. Apply for financial aid.
Step 5. For veterans / military only.
Step 6. Sign up for housing.
Step 7. Meet state immunization requirements.
Step 8. Submit final materials.
Step 9. Students with disabilities
STEP 1. CONFIRM YOUR INTENT TO ENROLL.
Click on the admission confirmation link (below) and let us know you're coming. Then we'll start preparing for your college experience at Indiana State University.

STEP 2. SIGN UP FOR NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION.
The University offers an advising and registration program for new students.
For dates and details (including an on-line reservation form) visit orientation.
Note: Distance learners should visit www.indstate.edu/distance for information on virtual orientation, technical support, and more.
STEP 3. ACTIVIATE YOUR MyISU PORTAL ACCOUNT.
As a newly admitted student, you will receive e-mail from faculty, staff, and students to help you enroll at Indiana State University.
To activate your Sycamore login on the MyISU Portal:
- Go to https://isuportal.indstate.edu
- Click Activate Your Sycamore Login.
- Click the New Account Activation button.
IMPORTANT: You will need your University ID number (found on your acceptance letter), your date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
STEP 4. APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID.
If you have not already done so, apply for federal and state financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov
The federal school code for Indiana State University is 001807.

STEP 5. FOR VETERANS / MILITARY ONLY.

STEP 6. SIGN UP FOR HOUSING.
Visit Residential Life for information on:
- Residence halls and housing options
- Meal plans
- On-line housing contract (and instructions)
Go to Residential Life now at www.indstate.edu/reslife
STEP 7. MEET STATE IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS.
As a new student, you are required by the State of Indiana Department of Health to complete and return health and immunization documents prior to registering for classes.
You can access required forms at www.indstate.edu/shc
Note: Distance learners are exempt from immunization requirements as long as they
do not attend any classes or visit the ISU campus. To qualify for this exemption, mail or fax a letter (no emails)
stating you are a totally distance learner to: Student Health Center, Indiana State University, 567 North 5th Street,
Terre Haute, IN 47809. FAX: (812) 237-7955.
STEP 8. SUBMIT FINAL MATERIALS.
Submit final materials to the Office of Admissions.
Don't forget to include (if applicable):
- Final high school transcript (upon graduation)
- Final college transcripts (most recent semester completed or dual credit course work)
In addition, students who have not already done so, should submit the $25.00 (nonrefundable) application fee.
