Personal Campus Visits - Options
When scheduling your visit, you can select from one or more of the following areas. In addition, information sessions can be arranged in other areas such as the University's Honors Program, Study Abroad Program, disability services, and more.
Admissions Appointment (approximately 45 minutes)
Sit with an admissions counselor, and get all your questions answered on how to apply, deadlines, scholarship opportunities, majors available, and what you can be doing to prepare yourself for your first year in college. Find out valuable information on the size of the University, student faculty ratios, and how your classroom and outside learning experiences at Indiana State prepare you for your chosen career.
Campus Tour (1 hour)
A campus tour guide will lead you on a one-hour walking tour of campus. While touring our beautiful campus, you will have the opportunity to see the library, computer lab, classroom buildings, athletic facilities, and more. This is also the opportunity to ask a current Indiana State student about campus activities, classroom experiences, and campus life. Learn about the opportunities that are open to Indiana State students, such as study abroad, campus jobs, student organizations and clubs, and much more. Don't forget to take the chance to ask about meal plans and housing.
Financial Aid (30 minutes)
Money is an important component to consider when choosing a college or university. In the financial aid session, a representative will discuss the FAFSA and appropriate documentation necessary to provide the student an estimated award package. Need to know how to pay for college? This is the session for you. Our financial aid representative will talk you through grants, scholarships, and loans. If there are additional personal questions, the representative will take time to answer those questions one on one.
Academics (approximately 1 hour depending on department)
Making a decision on what college or university to attend can be complicated, but even more so can be choosing a major. Here at Indiana State University we offer more than 80 majors ranging from aviation to theater or anything in between. During your visit you could have the opportunity to visit with a faculty member to discuss a particular major pending availability. We encourage you to schedule early for this to be an option during your visit.
Residential Life (1 hour)
One of the most commonly asked questions from students is "Where am I going to live?" Ask no more! In the Residential Life session, you will learn about the housing contract, roommate options, fees, meal plans and more! Students and families will get a tour of two residence halls, one being a standard room and the second being our premium housing option.
