African and African American Studies offers an undergraduate major and minor.

The undergraduate major

The undergraduate major requires 39 credit hours. A major requires an 18 credit core area, which provides students a grounding in intellectual and historical trends in African and African American culture, as well as the opportunity to conduct advanced research in the field. Students also have a wide array of elective courses from which to choose, dealing with politics, history, music, literature, and so forth. The undergraduate minor

The undergraduate minor requires 18 credit hours. A minor degree will also provide students a strong grounding in African and African American culture.
