Offerings

Currently our Driver Education Program is in process of opening!

2013 Driver Education Courses:

The Department of Applied Health Sciences and College of Nursing, Health and Human Services and Extended Learning are pleased to offer comprehensive driver education classes for high school students all over the Wabash Valley.

All classes are approved by the State of Indiana Department of Education and meet all state standards giving the students

30 hours of in-class instruction
accompanied by 6 hours of in-car driving practice with a certified instructor

Specifically designed for high school students, this course offers

instruction in a three-phase approach including
- classroom lectures
- assessment and practices on a multiple car driving range
- and on-street driving

Students must be 15 years 3 weeks before class begins in order to register

2013 Indiana Driver’s Manual Study Class:

In 2012 the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) changed its process for individuals seeking a driving permit who are less than 16 years of age.

In order to receive a driving permit you must first register for a Driver Education Course
After registration, you will receive a Certificate of Driver Education (CDE) Form
- you must take the CDE form to the BMV
- While at the BMV
  - the individual must take
    - the Written Knowledge Test over the Indiana Driver’s Manual
    - and a Vision Test
  - After passing the Written Knowledge Test and the Vision Test the individual may receive his/her driving permit.
Any individuals, age 15 and above, who would like to join our study classes offered by the Driver Education Center are welcome to register for these classes.
- You do not have to be registered in an Driver Education Course.
