PAUL SIEBENMORGEN
He's a husband, a father, a grandfather, and for many years was the
family physician for a a large number of people in his hometown of
Terre Haute, having delivered over 5,000 of them! That's a lot
of family. For ISU grad, Dr. Paul Siebenmorgen, family has
always been at the center of practically everything he does.
When he began his private practice in Terre Haute in 1947, he worked
at least 80 hours a week with office hours three nights a week,
house calls at night and emergency room coverage.......and lots of
late night deliveries. Dr. Siebenmorgen moved into a practice
with other physicians in 1966 and eventually had a family practice
with his daughter until his retirement.
While at ISU, Dr. Siebenmorgen served as Student Council President
and has continued to serve his alma mater through many levels of
activities. Over the years, he has brought honor to ISU, the
Terre Haute area, and his chosen career of medicine by representing
Hoosier physicians
in
such organizations as the Indiana State Medical Association, the
Indiana Academy of Family Physicians, the Physicians Insurance
Company of Indiana and IU Medical School Alumni Association.
At Indiana State University, Siebenmorgen has served on the
Board of Trustees, the Alumni Advisory Council, the ISU
Varsity Club, and the ISU Foundation. Dr. Siebenmorgen
also served a term as the President of the Alumni Association.
Indiana State University has played an important role in the life of
Dr. Siebenmorgen considering his father, sisters, wife and children
all graduated from ISU. His loyalty and respect for the
university has continued through the years, and he has not only
distinguished himself, but also his alma mater.
Paul Siebenmorgen received ISU' s Distinguished Alumni Award in
1993. He resides in Terre Haute.
