Plans are underway for the 2013 Blue and White Parade on Saturday, October 5 at 9:00 a.m.

51ST Running of the Indiana State Tricycle Derby

The Indiana State Tricycle Derby was first run in 1963 as a 10-lap race around the sidewalks of the Quadrangle on children¹s tricycles. The races featured a men¹s and women¹s division (the Powder Puff Derby). The races now feature men¹s and women¹s teams racing on specially built tricycles at Recreation East and the Michael Simmons Student Activity Center at Ninth and Sycamore streets the Friday afternoon before Homecoming.

Each team qualifies for the race prior to the actual Sycamore Tricycle Derby. The fastest male and female rider qualifying for the race is honored with the title of “Hot Wheels”. For a brief history, past winners of the Sycamore Tricycle Derby and past Hot Wheels

Third Annual ALUMNI Tricycle Derby RACE

This year the Alumni Association will be hosting the Third Annual Alumni Tricycle Derby Race on October 4^th, 2013 at the Michael Simmons Student Activity Center. If you have participated in the past or always wanted to this is your chance to become a part of ISU history. We are currently collecting names and information for individuals who are interested in participating in the Alumni Race. Participation for this event may be limited depending upon interest. The races will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the alumni race will take place first.

Race Details:

Teams will consist of 2-6 Riders for Women; 2-10 Riders for Men
Men will complete a total of 10 laps/Women will complete a total of 6 laps
Each rider must complete at least one entire lap
Each team member must wear the same color of shirt
Each rider must wear a protective helmet
Pits will be assigned at random prior to the race
Race will take place on October 4, 2013 with additional information to follow.
Riders may have the opportunity to practice early in the afternoon on race day
Trikes will be provided on a first come first served basis
Race teams should check in by 3:30 p.m.
