Getting involved

Alumni Chapter's provide ISU alumni a variety of ways to volunteer in assisting the University. A few of the areas alumni can volunteer include:

Events
Alumni have the opportunity to reach out to other area alumni by volunteering to help with event planning and hosting.

In the future, alumni may also assist in planning and hosting events such as sports outings, basketball t.v. parties, Sycamore Send-Offs, scholarship golf outings and other alumni events.

Job Referrals
The ISU Career Center also enlists the help of alumni in publicizing job opportunities with their companies.

If your company has a job hotline, website or your company regularly publishes job openings, please contact the Career Center at career-center@indstate.edu

Mentoring
The ISU Student Alumni Association has recently developed an alumni mentoring program in which members are matched with alumni to assist in students' career development. Alumni are utilized to assist students with career related questions, resume development and job search strategies.

Scholarships Alumni have the opportunity to initiate the establishment of a chapter scholarship. Currently, a Southeastern Michigan Alumni Chapter Scholarship has not been established, but it is a goal for the chapter to establish one in the near future.

Alumni also have the opportunity to present ISU scholarships at local high schools during commencement and awards day ceremonies.

Student Recruitment The Office of Admissions welcomes alumni in representing ISU at regional college fairs and college days at local high schools. Please check this site regularly to see the list of college fairs ISU will be attending.

Alumni are also encouraged to forward names of potential students that would benefit from an ISU education to the Office of Admissions.
