PROGRAM ACCREDITATION

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Indiana State University.

Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards. Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September 2020. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.

PROGRAM MISSION

The mission of the Indiana State University Physician Assistant Program is to create a student-centered educational environment that engages individuals to become compassionate, competent physician assistants who possess the clinical skills to contribute positively to the dynamic health care needs of rural and underserved populations.

WHO SHOULD BECOME A PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT?

We are looking for caring, compassionate individuals who want to serve their communities as primary care providers as part of a Physician / PA team.  Indiana State’s PA program is designed with evidence-based medicine and culturally sensitive provision of care as guiding principles.  We intend to attract and retain a diverse student body.  Although prior health care experience is preferred, it is not a requirement of admission.
