Post-Professional Athletic Training Program - Graduate
Education
Our aim is that each graduate of the program will excel
within our points of distinctiveness at the time of
graduation. The points of distinction are threaded
throughout the courses in the curriculum and have associated
measureable outcomes linked to course assignments and
activities. ISU’s Points of Distinctiveness are:
Clinical and didactic teaching are woven throughout the
curriculum beginning with the AT Educator course (ATTR 625).
This provides students the framework for clinical
supervision, but also focuses on teaching outside the
traditional sense. Students are encouraged to apply
each strategy to their peers, patients, coaches, and
supervisors to achieve their necessary outcomes. Once
students have established a framework, they begin the
supervision of undergraduate students, while being mentored
by supervisors and more experienced clinical instructors.
