Fine Arts and Commerce Building and the Student Union Building are completed. Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt presides over dedication ceremonies. Cost of Student Union was $440,000. Cost of Fine Arts and Commerce Building was $365,000. The Student Union was named for President Ralph N. Tirey in 1965. Blue Key Chapter Victory Bell was first presented to the victor of the Indiana State -- Ball State football game. The Victory Bell has been a sporadic symbol of the football rivalry to the present
Two acres of land were purchased to add the existing eight acres of land at the College Lodge at Allendale. The college contributed $7,000 to assist in construction of a stone building by the National Youth Administration
A Naval V-5 unit formed on the ISTC campus to support the war effort by training Navy pilots. The program was discontinued in 1944.
A Naval V-12 unit was formed on the campus to train navy deck officers January 4, First annual Crystal Ball was sponsored by the Women's League
Director of Nursing Education added to the college staff
Anton Hulman donated 47 acres of land located near Brown and Wabash Ave to the ISTC. The land was to be developed as an athletic facility. The General Assembly appropriated $50,000 to this land. The development never occurred and the land was eventually sold to the city.
A student Government Association was first formed by the adoption of its first Constitution John Wooden was named basketball coach at ISTC. Wooden was at ISTC for two years and went on to national fame as the coach at UCLA
