REQUIREMENTS- Studio Art
The bachelor of science degree with a studio emphasis is designed for the student who desires a more general education, or a second major or a minor. The total studio credit hour requirements are fewer, permitting a larger number of elective credits. This degree is designed for those who might wish subsequently to pursue the master of science or master of arts, or possibly master of fine arts degrees.
18 hours of the core curriculum; Studio 215--3 hrs; Studio 210, 245, or 255--3 hrs. (except graphic design students); Art History 371 and an additional 6 hours of art history; Art History, Art Theory and Criticism, and Museology 482--3 hrs.; and additional hours in art courses to reach 62 hours total.
Students in their last semester shall present a representative example of their work (1-2 pieces) in an approved gallery setting. The work presented will be evaluated by the studio faculty of the student's area of emphasis and will be photographically documented.
