The Assessment and Accreditation Coordinator supports academic and non-academic assessment as well as other activities related to continuous improvement initiatives and efforts to enhance institutional performance and student learning outcomes. The work of the Assessment and Accreditation Coordinator is guided by the tripartite Assessment Council, created by the Board of Trustees in July 2009 to guide and oversee institution-wide assessment activities with the goal of facilitating consistent and effective assessment.
Ruth E. Cain, Ed.D., joined ISU as the Assessment and Accreditation Coordinator in November 2009. Her role includes working with academic and administrative programs on activities related to continuous improvement initiatives and efforts to enhance institutional performance and student learning outcomes, as well as to assure that ISU meets the assessment requirements of the North Central Association and other accrediting organizations. Ruth has begun working with a variety of programs at various stages in the assessment process and will continue to contact department chairs and program directors throughout the semester.
No matter where you are in the assessment process, the Assessment Council and the Office of Assessment and Accreditation are available to support your efforts. Please contact Ruth at firstname.lastname@example.org or 237-8899 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
