In 2009, the Graduate Council and College of Graduate and Professional Studies began the process of identifying five shared learning outcomes across all graduate programs. The result was the "Assurance of Student Learning" procedure which outlines a rotating reporting process that documents program efforts to assess student learning and align curricula with the shared learning goals. In fall 2010, programs in the College of Arts & Sciences were the first to report out and their efforts will be reviewed by the Graduate Council's Program Development Committee (PDC) over the course of the fall semester. Over the next two years, all graduate programs will have reported out. The PDC will review reports and provide feedback to all participating programs, chairs, and deans.
