CROWDER REPEATS AS VALLEY'S CROSS COUNTRY FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- For the second week in a row, Indiana State senior Jessica Crowder has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Female Athlete of the Week after a fifth-place performance over the weekend at the Bradley Open.

Crowder, a senior from Farmersburg, Ind. (North Central), ran a personal-best 5K race in 17:56 to lead the Sycamores to a third-place finish. She finished just 18 seconds behind Heidi Lindeman of Marquette who won the women’s race. This effort came a week after winning the 2003 Sycamore Pride meet with a time of 14.17.80, the fastest women’s time at the meet since the distance changed from a 5K to a 4K in 1999.
