CROWDER NAMED VALLEY FEMALE CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Senior Jessica Crowder won her third race of the year as the Indiana State women’s cross country team placed first at the Saluki Invitational last Saturday. For that effort, Crowder has been named Missouri Valley Conference Female Athlete of the Week for October 6-12.

Crowder, a three-time Valley Athlete of the Week in 2003, won her third race of the year at the Saluki Invitational. It was her second straight win and third overall. She beat the next closest competitor, Amanda Bell of Louisville, by 27 seconds with a time of 18:02. In five races this season, the Farmersburg, Ind., native has three wins, a second and a fifth-place finish.

She began this season with back-to-back Valley Athlete of the Week honors.
