THREE SYCAMORE RUNNERS EARN MVC SCHOLAR-ATHLETE HONORS
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Senior Jessica Crowder, junior Aaron Harding and sophomore Jordan Fife were named to the 2003 Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Cross Country Teams on Wednesday.
For Crowder, it is the third consecutive year she has earned the honor and is the lone representative for Indiana State on the women’s side. Harding and Fife each were selected for the first time in cross country.
Crowder, a English Teaching major, earned all-MVC honors on Saturday following her first-place finish, which also earned her MVC Cross Country Women’s Athlete of the Year.
Harding, an accounting major, has been the men’s top runner in every meet this season. The Indianapolis, Ind., native had his best time (25:05) of the year on Saturday to finish 17th. Fife, undecided, crushed his previous season-best time by 49 seconds to finish 22nd with a mark of 25:15.
Both teams are off this weekend as they prepare for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, which will be hosted by Indiana State on November 15 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
