LAURA ENGLE NAMED MVC FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Indiana State University sophomore Laura Engle (Terre Haute, Ind./South HS) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Female Athlete of the Week. Engle helped lead the Sycamores to a third-place finish on Saturday (Oct. 9) at the Saluki Invite.
   The Terre Haute native completed the 5k course in 17:52.11, which was good for a third-place finish out of a field of 109 runners. It was the third top-ten finish of the season for Engle, and her second consecutive top-five finish. Earlier this season, Engle posted a personal-best time of 17:44 at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational on October 2.
   The Sycamores return to action on Saturday (Oct. 16), when they host the 2004 Indiana State Pre-Nationals, co-sponsored by Brooks and the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau.
