SYCMORES WIN AT HOME
OVER BRADLEY 75-63

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana State pulled out a
dramatic 75-63 win over Bradley at the Hulman Center on Wednesday
night (Feb. 8). The win moves the Sycamores to 10-12 (3-11 MVC)
on the season while the Braves drop to 13-9 (7-7 MVC).
“We needed this win tonight,” said head coach Royce
Waltman. “Eventually you can only say things so long, but
this really gave us a good win near the end of the season as we
get ready for the conference tournament.”
ISU came out of the gates quickly, building a 24-10 advantage at
the 7:44 mark of the first half. The lead wouldn’t hold as
Bradley went on a 19-5 run at the end of the half and took a 31-29
advantage at the break.
Indiana State began the second half strong using a 12-5 run over
the first five minutes. The Sycamores would build the lead to as
much as eight (45-37) with 13:22 left to play.
The Braves would again make another offensive surge and tie the
game (52-52) with seven minutes left in the game. The teams traded
baskets before the Sycamores used a 15-4 run down the stretch to
secure the win.
“We made stops to win the game,” Waltman said. “Near
the end of the game, we were able to get three stops in a short
amount of time.”
Senior David Moss led all scorers with 22 points and added nine
rebounds, six assists and two steals in the win. Gabe Moore and
Jay Tunnell also poured in double-figures with 17 and 11, respectively.
Freshman Adam Arnold logged a career-high 35 minutes tallied a game-high
10 rebounds.
Sommerville led the Braves with 14 points, while Patrick O’Bryant
added 11 points and seven boards.
The Sycamores will return to the court on Saturday when they host
Wichita State at Hulman Center. Tip-off for the game is set for
4:07 p.m.
