SYCAMORES REMAIN PERFECT WITH 66-58 WIN OVER EIU

CHARLESTON, Ill. - Indiana State remained unbeaten on the seasons after a 66-58 win over the Eastern Illinois Panthers on the road, leading up to a huge in-state clash with Indiana on Tuesday night. With the win ISU is now 3-0 while the Panthers dropped to 0-4.

The Sycamores were paced in the win by David Moss who scored 34 points and added seven rebounds and seven assists. The senior also had game-highs in blocks (2) and steals (3) while shooting 10-16 from the field.

ISU had two other players in double figures, including Jay Tunnell with 12 and Tyson Schnitker with 10. Indiana State finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field and 76 percent from the free throw line. Eastern Illinois was behind in both categories, hitting 41 percent of their baskets and 71 percent from the charity stripe.

The Panthers were led by Mike Robinson with 16 points, including a three that cut the Sycamore lead to 61-58 with 1:18 remaining in the game. However, it would be the last points EIU would see on the board as ISU would close the game out on a 5-0 run.

The win sets up the in-state clash with the Hoosier of IU on Tuesday night at the Hulman Center. Indiana is 4-1 heading into the contest and ranked 16 in the latest poll. The Sycamores lost the last contest with the Hoosiers on the road 56-52 in 2004.
