TERRE HAUTE - The Sycamores began their game against
the University of Indianapolis with an 8-0 run and didn’t
slow down for the eventual win, 79-45. Indiana State was paced by
junior Tyson Schnitker with 25 points while the Greyhounds were
led by senior Jon LaBad with 15.
“The kids played with a lot of enthusiasm tonight,”
said head coach Royce Waltman. “We got to play all 10 guys,
but it was hard to see where we stand.”
Schnitker showed the hot hand in the first half hitting six of
nine from the field, including four of six from three point land.
The Robinson, Ill., native led the Sycamores in the first half with
19 points and collected eight rebounds in his near double-double

thunderous dunk from senior David Moss off a Darron Evans steal.
The home team went into the break with a 45-24 advantage, out shooting
the ‘Hounds 13-32 (40.6%) to 8-29 (27.6%).
Indiana State continued the charge in the second half led by Moss’
eight points. The Sycamores’ leading point scorer the past
three seasons electrified the crowd in the middle of the second
half on an alley-oop dunk from sophomore guard Gabriel Moore.
The Sycamores outscored the Greyhounds 17-6 in the final 10:41
to seal the victory. As a team Indiana State shot 43% from the field,
including 39% from behind the arc. The Greyhounds struggled with
their shot with a dismal 29% shooting percentage for the game and
a 17% from three.

for the Sycamores this season. Indiana State will begin the regular
season with Nov. 18 against Central State.
