SYCAMORES SEASON ENDS WITH 81-63 LOSS TO SHOCKERS

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Indiana State’s season came to an end with an 81-63 loss to Wichita State in the quarterfinals of the MVC Basketball Tournament on Friday. The Sycamores stayed with the Shockers during the first half, but didn’t have an answer to WSU’s 68-percent shooting in the second half.

Wichita State would take a nine-point lead late in the second half on back-to-back three pointers with six minutes to play. The Shockers would go on and convert free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

Indiana State was led by David Moss in his final collegiate game with 15 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Freshman Jay Tunnell shot a blazing 4-of-5 from behind the three-point line to finish with 12 points while Eric Gray was the double-digit scorer for ISU with a matching 12 points.

The Sycamores finished the season with a 13-16 record, while Wichita State (24-7) will head to the MVC Conference semi-finals to face the winner of Creighton and Bradley tomorrow afternoon.
