MOSS TO PARTICIPATE
IN PORTSMOUTH INVITAIONAL
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State senior David
Moss (Chicago, Ill./Thornwood HS) has been selected
to participate in the 2006 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. Based
in Portsmouth, Va., the tournament will take place April 5-8, and
features 64 of the top seniors in the country. Players are divided
into eight teams, consisting of eight players.
The event annually draws over 100 representatives
from the National Basketball Association, and scouts from various
foreign leagues. The 2006 tournament is the 54th year of the Portsmouth
Invitational and is the only post-season event prior to the NBA
Pre-Draft Camp.
Moss finished his career as the school’s
fifth-leading scorer with 1,562 points. He tallied 137 career steals,
and 350 assists, which, ranked eighth and seventh, respectively.
Moss appeared in 108 games during his career and made 103 starts.
He led the Sycamores in scoring 57 times during his career and finished
as the team’s leading rebounder on 38 occasions. Moss scored
in double figures 85 times and posted six double-doubles as a Sycamore.
As a senior, Moss was named team All-Missouri
Valley Conference Second Team for the second consecutive season.
He was also named to the second team All-MVC Scholar Athlete Team.
Moss averaged 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game as a senior.
He became the first player in school history to lead the team in
scoring for four seasons and increase his average each season.
