SYCAMORES CLAIM OVERTIME
WIN AGAINST MTSU, 85-79
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – David Moss
scored a game-high 25 points as Indiana State escaped with an 85-79
overtime win against Middle Tennessee State on Saturday (Nov. 26).
Five Sycamores finished in double figures, as the Trees shot 53-percent
from the field.
Moss knocked down two free throws with 16 seconds
remaining in the game to give the Trees a three-point advantage
(74-71). The Blue Raiders’ Adam Vogelsberg knocked down a
three-pointer with four seconds left to send the game to overtime.
After Tim Blue gave MTSU a two-point advantage at the start of the
overtime period, the Sycamores scored the next six points to surge
ahead by four (80-76). The Blue Raiders would get as close as two
points, but ISU made five of six free throws in the final 42 seconds
to seal the win.
Fats Cuyler led the Blue Raiders with 20 points.
Kyle Young posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
MTSU shot 53 percent from the field and made 9-of-23 three-pointers.
The Blue Raiders outrebounded Indiana State 35-27.
Gabriel Moore and Tyson Schnitker each added 13
points for the Sycamores, while freshman Jay Tunnell added 12. Freshman
Jeremiah Wise came off the bench and added ten points for ISU. Moore
tied his career high with a game-high seven assists.
Indiana State moves to 2-0 on the year while Middle
Tennessee State falls to 1-1. The Sycamores return to action on
Saturday (Dec. 3), when they travel to face Eastern Illinois.
