INDIANA STATE NAMES ANGIE LANSING BUSINESS MANAGER AND SWA

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State Director of Athletics Ron Prettyman announced today (Aug. 31) the addition of Angie (Menser) Lansing to the athletics department staff as business manager and senior women’s administrator. Lansing begins her duties at ISU on September 1.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Angie Lansing to our athletic department staff as business manager and senior women’s administrator,” Prettyman said. “Her previous experience makes her a perfect fit for our department. She is a former student-athlete here, and we are pleased she is returning to her alma mater. I am excited to have her on staff as senior women’s administrator, and look forward to her being an integral part of our senior athletic administration.”

Lansing comes to Indiana State from Panchero’s Franchise Corp of Iowa City, Iowa where she previously worked for six years managing the company’s accounting, payroll, financial reports and license renewals. She also played a key role in the publishing and development of a shareholders newsletter. In addition, she assisted top level management on several large projects during her time with Panchero’s.

At Indiana State, Lansing will control the Sycamores’ business office. She will coordinate all budget issues for the department as well as work with the university’s purchasing office and controller to maintain the department’s financial relationships. In addition, Lansing will serve as the athletic department’s Senior Women’s Administrator and will play a key role at conference and national meetings on behalf of female athletes. She will play a major role this fall in the department’s Equity in Athletics Report that will be prepared for the NCAA.

“I am really excited to be back at Indiana State, especially because it is my alma mater,” Lansing said. “I have had some great experiences at the university, and look forward to getting back to work here. I am very thankful to Ron Prettyman for the opportunity.”

Lansing is no stranger to Sycamore athletics. She was a highly successful cross country as well as track and field athlete at Indiana State from 1994-96. She currently holds the ISU school record in the mile run as well as the 1,500 meter dash. She was the 1997 Missouri Valley Conference Champion for the indoor mile as well as conference champion in the 1998 outdoor 1,500 meters. She was a four-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection in both indoor as well as outdoor track and field. Lansing was a three-time all-conference selection in cross country, as well as a two-time academic all-conference selection. In 1996, Lansing was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American for cross country. Lansing is a past recepient of Indiana State’s Hillman Award, which honors the school’s top female athlete annually.

“We are so happy to have Angie back in our athletic department,” head women’s track and field/cross country coach John Gartland stated. “She is one of the nicest, most dedicated athletes that we have ever had come through our program. She will add a lot to our department with her enthusiasm and dependability. We really are looking forward to working her with her.”

L ansing, a native of Batesville, Ind., is married to current ISU assistant men’s basketball coach Greg Lansing, who joined Royce Waltman’s staff earlier this summer. She is the sister of Michael Menser, who is best remembered for a pair of 3-point baskets that downed Indiana University at Hulman Center in 2000. Menser also helped the Sycamores to a regular season conference championship in 1999 and a MVC Tournament victory in 2000. Menser was a key member of the 2001 Indiana State team that defeated No. 4 seed Oklahoma in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
