Eligibility
All young men and women in the 6th grade through the 12th grade (school year 2003-2004) who want to become better vaulters or would like to learn how to vault and have never attempted to pole vault.
Camp Staff
Joe Catania, Director
Beginning his seventh year as an Indiana State University Assistant Track and Field Coach; Experience includes 21 years as a prep coach and 10 years at the collegiate level; coached 12 MVC champions including 3 in the vault and 4 NCAA national qualifiers, as well as 83 All-Conference performers. As a vault coach helped develop 3 seventeen, 6 sixteen and numerous fifteen and fourteen foot vaulters. In all of the events in high school track and field Catania has produced 47 state champions. Has done extensive work with the vault including directing the ISU Vault Camp for four years and organizing the Sky Jumper's Vault Camp at Illinois State University.
Collin Gayde, Assistant Director
Colin comes to Indiana State a an assistant coach after competing as an ISU pole vaulter for three years. In his first four months as a coach he has coached a returning female pole vaulter to a new school and MVC indoor record. Collin has been a camp instructor at ISU's pole vault camps for the last five years and has helped out a Terre Haute's high school and community track and field clubs.
Transportation/Vaulting Poles
Vaulters must provide their own transportation to and from camp. High School vaulters should make arrangements to bring their own vaulting poles. If you are having a problem getting a pole, do not let this be a reason for not attending the camp. Give Joe a call to discuss your problem. Middle schools and other beginners will be given a pole to vault with.
Check-In
Check-in will be Tuesday, June 15th between 10:00 a.m. and Noon, in the commons in the Hulman Memorial Student Union. First session begins at 1:30 p.m. Check-out will be Thursday, June 17th, following the early afternoon session (approximately 3:00 p.m.).
Camper Fees
Resident camper fees are $265. This covers room and board, medical insurance, camp t-shirt, video tape and all instruction. A registration deposit of $100 must accompany your application, with the balance due at check-in. Discount: Two or more from the same school of family only pay $250 each.
Day camper fees are $215. This covers noon and evening meal, medical insurance, camp t-shirt, video tape and all instruction. A registration deposit of $50 must accompany your application, with the balance due at check-in. Discount: Two or more from the same school of family only pay $250 each.
