January 24, 2006 WRIGHT NAMED MVC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Missouri Valley Conference named ISU freshman Sean Wright as the Conference Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday. The award is the first for Wright and second for the team this year. Wright crossed the finish line first in the 400-meter dash for the second week in a row with a season-best time of 48.54. The freshman also anchored the men’s 4x400-meter relay and came from behind to help the Sycamores to a first place finish in the event with a conference-best time of 3:16.64. The wins helped the Sycamores to a first place finish at the Indiana Quadrangular over the Big Ten’s Indiana, Purdue and Ohio State. The track teams will be on the road this Saturday in West Lafayette
competing for the Gene Edmunds Cup on the campus of Purdue University.
