SYCAMORES RECORD FIVE TOP TEN FINISHES AT DRAKE RELAYS FRIDAY

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Indiana State University track and field teams recorded five top 10 finishes at the 98th Drake Relays on Friday. Competition wraps up on Saturday.

The top finish of the day belonged to the women’s 4x200 relay team of Jeanne Roberts, Janae Bridges, Mary Kate Conway and Lauren Martin, who placed fifth in 1:39.20.

Also for the women, Kylie Hutson finished eighth in the pole vault with a leap of 12-feet-5.5 inches (3.80 meters).

The 4x100 relay team of Myra Bess, Roberts, Bridges and Martin was 15th in 47.23 while the 4x200 relay team of Martin, Bess, Conway and Erica Moore finished 19th in 3:45.43.

For the men’s team, Paladin Jordan ran a lifetime best in the 110 meter hurdles, placing 14th with a time of 14.36.

Five relays were also in competition for the men’s team. The 4x100 relay team of Antinoice Surry, Sean Wright, Logan Edwards and Gary Ogburn finished eighth in the preliminaries with a time of 14.36, advancing them to Saturday’s final.

The 4x1600 relay team of Kyle Walsh, Sean Bowman, Randy Placencia and Scott Koressel also placed eighth with a time of 16:56.38. The 4x800 meter relay team of John Lambertus, Kurt Heimann, Koressel and James Twitchell placed eighth in 7:37.25.

The 4x400 relay team of Logan Edwards, Bryant Kent, Heimann and Wright placed 18th in 3:12.43 while the 4x200 team of Kent, Surry, Brian Jackson and Ogburn had a bad exchange and was disqualified.
