DURR SETS SCHOOL RECORD IN STEEPLECHASE
AT STAN LYONS INVITATIONAL
INDIANAPOLOS, Ind. – Leah Durr finished second
in the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase but her time of 10:52.37 was
good enough to set a school record at the Stan Lyons Invitational
hosted by Butler University on Saturday.
Durr was just one of a number of Indiana State
track and field athletes who did well at the meet. Right behind Durr
in third place in the steeplechase event was Laura Engle with a time
of 11:09.43.
Katie Weber won the women’s 800 meters in a
personal best time of 2:15.51. Santia Spight was second in the high
jump at 5-feet-8.75-inches (1.75 meters), which qualified her for
the Midwest Regional. Lisa Barrett was second in the javelin at
133-feet-9.25 (40.77m) while Kayla Alexander was second in the 3000
meters with a time of 10:18.32.
On the men’s side, Brad Ada dominated the 800
meters to win in 1:53.40 while Scott Keeney was second in the 5000
meters with a time of 14:04.67. Jeremy Gray returned from spring
football practice and took a third place in the 100 meters (10.83),
Clayton Wilson was second in the 400 meters (48.57), and Jake Conn
third in the pole vault at 16-feet-0.75 (4.90m)
The Indiana State track and field teams, which
were split between the Drake Relays and the Stan Lyons Invitational
this weekend, will be back together next weekend for the Billy Hayes
Invitational hosted by Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. |
