VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT HOME TO REDBIRDS

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women’s volleyball fell 15-30, 19-30 and 18-30 in a conference clash with the Illinois State Redbirds on Saturday night at the ISU Arena. The loss drops the Sycamores to 4-14 (1-6), while the Redbirds move to 8-9 and 3-4 in conference play.

Senior Stephanie Roof led INSU with eight kills and two blocks, followed by Kelli Whitaker and Jodi Stoker with seven kills each. Kristy Cox led the Sycamores with eight digs as she continues to be ranked in the top-five of the Valley in that statistic.

Illinois State was led by Lindley McDavid with 13 kills, followed by Kari Staehlin with 11. Erin Lindsey tallied eight digs and Peggy Riessen accumulated five service aces to accompany her five digs.

Indiana State will be back on the road next weekend as they continue conference play at Northern Iowa on Friday, Oct. 13 and then travel on to Peoria, Illinois to face Bradley on Saturday, Oct. 14.
