SYCAMORES FALL (0-3) AT ILLINOIS STATE

Normal, Ill. - - - Indiana State hit the road to face the Redbirds of Illinois State in the second of two head to head matches this season. In the first meeting Illinois State claimed a (3-0) victory in Terre Haute. This match proved to be a repeat of the first as the Sycamores struggled to find their rhythm.

The Sycamores fell in three consecutive games (16-30, 26-30, 15-30) against the tough Redbirds of Illinois State. The loss drops the Sycamore record to 4-21 (1-13 MVC) and moves the Redbirds up to a record of 14-11 (8-6 MVC).

The key contributor to the Sycamore offensive was Freshman Kelli Whitaker, 10 kills with a .276 attack percentage, and defensively Sophomore Kristy Cox once again came through totaling 22 digs on the night. Leading the way for the Redbird offensive was M.C. Richmond who totaled 11 kills with a .650 attack percentage and defensively it was a story of three solid contributors as Erin Lindsey, M.C. Richmond, and Jessie Janik each totaled 11 digs on the night.

The Sycamores are in action again tomorrow in a Sunday afternoon game as they travel to Chicago State which is set to start at 4pm (Central).
