October 21, 2006 SYCAMORES STUMBLE AGAINST SOUTHERN ILLINOIS Terre Haute, Ind. - - - The Sycamores faced yet another tough conference opponent Saturday night in the ISU Arena as they squared off against the visiting Southern Illinois Salukis. The match was sent to a fourth game before the Saluki’s claimed victory with a score of three games to one. The loss drops the Sycamores to a record of 4-18 (1-10 MVC) and propels the Salukis to a record of 10-11 (5-6 MVC). Game one ended (30-25) in favor of the Salukis followed by Game two which saw the Sycamores claim a (32-30) advantage. The Salukis then went on to take games three and four (30-4, 30-28) to secure their overall victory on the night. The Sycamores were paced on offense by Senior Stephanie Roof who tallied 13 kills and a .524 attack percentage. Defensively the Sycamores once again relied on Sophomore Libero Kristy Cox who shouldered the bulk of the digs with 24. The Salukis got their offense going through Johannah Yutzy who scores 15 digs on a .429 attack percentage and their defense through Holly Marita who totaled 25 digs. The Sycamores face a pair of conference opponents on the road next
week. Friday the Sycamores travel to face Creighton which is set
to start at 7 pm local time in Omaha. Then Saturday the Sycamores
face Drake which is also set to start at 7 pm local time in Des
Moines.
