SYCAMORES FALL TO BRADLEY (0-3) ON SENIOR DAY
Terre Haute, Ind. - - - The Sycamores were in
action again Sunday afternoon as they met up with visiting conference
opponent Bradley. The game marked the annual Senior Day honoring
the team’s senior athletes and staff. The lone senior on this
year’s squad, Stephanie Roof was honored
and was accompanied by her family for the ceremony.
The Sycamores looked to rebound from a (0-3) defeat at the hands
of Bradley earlier this season but to no avail. The Sycamores fell
to Bradley (0-3) by scores of (26-30, 20-30, and 27-30) in the losing
effort. With the loss the Sycamores drop to a record of 5-23 (1-15
MVC) and the Bradley Braves move to a record of 8-21 (5-21 MVC).
The key contributors to the Sycamore effort was Senior
Stephanie Roof, 12 kills with a .167 attack percentage,
3 digs, and 4 blocks on her senior day, and Freshman Kelli
Whitaker, 13 kills with a .286 attack percentage. The key
contributor for the Bradley Braves was Amber DeBroux who totaled
16 kills with a .467 attack percentage, 6 digs, and 1 block.
The Sycamores are in action again next weekend for what will be
the final to matches of the year. Friday November 14 they travel
to Springfield, Missouri to take on Missouri State in a match that
is set to start at 7 pm. Saturday November 15 the Sycamores face
Wichita State in Wichita, Kansas for what will be the final match
of the 2006-07 Sycamore Volleyball season. That match is also set
to start at 7 pm.
