INDIANA STATE JUNIOR LAURA RUDOLPHI NAMED ESPN THE MAGAZINE ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State junior center Laura Rudolphi (Carlyle, Ill./High) has been named an ESPN The Magazine Third Team Academic All-American as awarded by the College Sports Information Directors of America earlier today.

Earlier this month, Rudolphi was named an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V First Team member.

Rudolphi, who carries a 4.0 GPA in Business Insurance, averages 14.5 points (seventh-best in the Valley) as well as 7.0 rebounds (fourth-best in the Valley) per game. She owns an Indiana State record 97 blocked shots and her 32 blocks this year are third-most in the history of the program.

Rudolphi posted a career-best point total of 23 points against both Missouri State and Evansville this season. She recorded a career-best 12 rebounds in a 76-66 road victory over Illinois State. Rudolphi has reached double figures scoring in 15-of-16 Missouri Valley Conference games this season.

Melanie Boeglin earned the program’s first-ever Academic All-America honor last season following her stand-out senior campaign. Boeglin was a first team honoree.

The Sycamores return to action on Thursday, March 1 when they travel to Creighton for a key league battle with the Bluejays. Tip-off from the Omaha Civic Auditorium is set for 8:05 p.m. (ET).
