Modes of Disease Transmission
oVectorborne Transmission is a form of Direct and Indirect Contact.
1.The person is “bit” by the arthropod (i.e., flea, tick, mosquito, etc) which is carrying the infected blood of another person or animal (Direct)
2.The arthropod leaves disease germs on a surface or object, which is then contacted by the person (Indirect); all four criteria for infection must be present (see previous slides)
