AST 143 Basic Air Navigation

AST-143,Basic Air Navigation is an introductory course offered by the ISU Department of Aerospace Technology that is taught in concert with AST-141, Aviation Fundamentals, in other words the two courses should be taken at the same time. The two courses provide primary Aviation students with an exceptionally strong aviation foundation they will carry with them throughout their aviation careers. The two courses are also required for the two and four year degrees in General Flight and Professional Flight. In addition, the courses may be taken by individuals who are only interested in completing their Private Pilot Certificate, and as an aid in successfully completing the Private Pilot FAA written exam, which is required for pilot certification.
The enclosed videotapes for this course are designed to augment and amplify the textual material from the textbook, they will be labeled as to tape content and should be used accordingly for the assigned lesson.
