ISU Bands
The band program at Indiana State University is directed toward providing a quality musical, educational, and cultural experience for all interested students. Presently there are three concert wind organizaitons, the ISU Marching Sycamores, Sycamore Basketball Band, Jazz Ensemble, and jazz combos that accomodate the varied interests and talent levels of ISU students. Whether you are a music major training to become a professional performer/teacher, or someone who simply enjoyed your high school experience and want to continue it at the university level, Indiana State University bands have a place for you.
Students from all majors representing every college within the University participte in the band program. Membership is an excellent way for you to become in volved in University life and to get acquainted with other successful college students who share your interesent in continuing the musical experience. Rehearsal schedules are less demanding than most high school bands, and they are planned at a time of day that does not conflict with most class schedules or prime study time. The values of participation are enhanced by scholarships, marching band grants, an extensive inventory of musical instruments and uniforms, regular performances with guest artists and an experienced conducting staff.
