The Department of Biology has received a number of extramural grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health; many have provided unique and specialized equipment and physical resources. In addition, the department has received state funding and some contract funding, each contributing significantly to the resource and equipment inventory of faculty laboratories. Lastly, over the past 10 years, we have received over $20,000,000 to renovate and restore a large portion of the science facilities that we share throughout the science building complex (with over 200,000 sq.ft. of useable space).
