General
Description
Tiered prevention and intervention is a term often used
interchangeably with Response to Intervention (RtI). Implementation of a
tiered prevention and intervention system or RtI requires multiple tiers
of intervention service delivery, a problem-solving method, and an
integrated data collection/assessment system to inform decisions at each
tier of service delivery.
For many, the implementation of tiered systems constitutes a change from
current practices that will unfold over time. Many schools are already
implementing various components of tiered prevention and intervention
systems and future implementation efforts should be guided by current
practices and the larger school improvement activities.
The CPSP can help school personnel assess current practices and future
professional development needs related to the implementation of tiered
models. The CPSP offers professional development, technical support and
resources related to building a foundation for tiered prevention and
intervention.
Needs Assessment
The Needs Assessment is a tool to support school personnel in the
ongoing evaluation of the implementation and effectiveness of curricula,
instructional practices, assessment techniques, and teaming as they
relate to meeting the needs of all students. The results of the needs
assessment should serve as a basis for identifying professional
development needs and outlining a comprehensive plan.

Needs Assessment upon request.
