General
Description
A problem solving model links instruction and intervention to
assessment data in order to support data-based decision making at all
levels of a tiered, or response to intervention, framework. The
effectiveness of instruction or intervention is evaluated using ongoing
progress monitoring data. Educational teams, including grade-level,
building-level, and multidisciplinary teams, support the systematic
review of assessment data to design instructional strategies and
intervention plans and inform educational decision making.
Through the Creative Problem Solving Initiative, the Blumberg Center has
historically supported building-level general education intervention
(GEI) teams and case conference teams through trainings in Creative
Problem Solving for GEI (CPS for GEI), Essential Facilitation for
Individualized Education Program Meetings (FIEP) and Co-Facilitation.
CPS for GEI has been implemented in hundreds of schools across Indiana
and has supported team collaboration and the development of intervention
plans. Click on the following button for more information regarding CPS for
GEI.
