Cultural Responsivity   

Collaborative Leadership Teams
This series of academies promotes inclusive systems and schools by coaching Collaborative Leadership Team members in both leadership skills and team collaboration.  Titles include the following: Fostering Team Leadership in Culturally Responsive Systems, Engaging Stakeholders in Culturally Responsive Systems, and Creating Culturally Responsive Systems.  Each academy includes a facilitator manual, PowerPoint presentation, and printable materials.

Cultural and Linguistic Differences: What Teachers Should Know
This module focuses on ways in which culture influence interactions in all classrooms and provides practice for enhancing culturally responsive teaching.

Culturally Responsive Literacy
This series of academies examines the purposes of literacy in students' lives, methods of designing and implementing culturally responsive literacy instruction, and the use of many forms of literacy as powerful tools for student engagement in school and social change.  Titles include the following: Literacy for What?, Culturally Responsive Literacy Instruction - What does it Look Like in the Classroom?, and Boundary Crossings - Creating Language Experiences in the Classroom for ALL Students.  Each academy includes a facilitator manual, PowerPoint presentation, and printable materials.

Culturally Responsive Pedagogy and Practice
This series of academies facilitates and supports the achievement of all students.  Titles include the following: Understanding Cultural Responsiveness, Culturally Responsive Classrooms and Culturally Responsive Curriculum.  Each academy includes a facilitator manual, PowerPoint presentation, and printable materials.

Culturally Responsive Response to Intervention
This series of academies includes the basic structures and features of culturally responsive RTI with a focus on ensuring that general education provides robust, high quality opportunities to learn for all students. It also identifies traditional attitudes related to what counts as evidence in research and practice and strategies for designing interventions that take into account the role of culture in teaching and learning.  Titles include the following: Culturally Responsive Response to Intervention Models, Using Data to Assess Student Progress and Inform Educational Decisions in Culturally Responsive RTI Models, and Ensuring Culturally Responsive Student Supports.  Each academy includes a facilitator manual, PowerPoint presentation, and printable materials.

English Language Learners (ELLs) and RTI Webinar
This webinar discusses the educational needs of English Language Learners (ELLs) and how best to meet those needs in an RTI framework. The webinar also highlighted examples from schools who are successfully meeting the needs of English Language Learners.  It includes the PowerPoint presentation, webinar recording, and follow-up Q&A.

Teaching and Learning in New Mexico: Considerations for Diverse Student Populations
This module includes an overview of how diversity (i.e., culture, language, exceptionality, gender, socioeconomic status, and learning styles) affects student learning and how better to meet the needs of all students in a classroom.

Understanding Culture and Cultural Responsiveness
This series of academies explores culture and diversity as it applies to educators and education by exploring the influence of culture on everyday activity, on individual identity development, and as it relates to systems of power and privilege in our education systems.  Titles include the following: Fostering Appreciating Culture and Cultural Responsiveness, Uncovering Diversity, and Power, Privilege, and Change.  Each academy includes a facilitator manual, PowerPoint presentation, and printable materials.
