FAQ


  1. I don't have any Federal Student Aid, so why do I have to answer the authorization question?

    All students are being asked to answer this question.  Should you subsequently become a federal financial aid recipient, we will know how you want us to use federal aid balances in association with mandatory e-textbook fees.

  2. Am I going to have to answer the authorization question every time I register and/or change my schedule?

    No, once you have made a selection, you will not have to answer again.

  3. What is Federal Student Aid?

    Examples of federal financial aid include federal Pell Grants, federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG), federal Perkins Loans, and federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Direct Loans.

  4. When does the authorization go into effect?

    If you make your selection online, the authorization will go into effect immediately.  If you make your selection by paper form, it will take effect when the form is received by the Office of the Controller (Account Analysts) during normal business hours.

  5. How long will my authorization be in effect?

    Your selection will remain in effect unless you choose to change/rescind it, which you may do at any time.

  6. I want to view/change my current selection.  How do I do that?

    You may view your current selection on the ISU portal.  You may change your authorization regarding the use of your excess federal financial aid balances online or by paper form.

  7. What if I have questions that have not been answered?
