The 2010
class of Orr Fellows has been announced and the Scott College of
Business’ very own Bobby Tichy is the only Indiana State
University recipient. Tichy is a marketing and business administration
major from Terre Haute who also was selected as the university’s winter
commencement speaker in December.
He is one of 25 recent graduates selected from several thousand applicants for the Gov. Bob Orr Indiana Entrepreneurial Fellowship. The Orr Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for undergraduate students searching for their first salaried, full-time position following graduation. The two-year, post graduate experience places the fellows with some of Indiana’s fastest growing entrepreneurial companies and provides them with access to monthly meetings with Indiana’s top business leaders and companies.
Tichy’s host company will be Exact Target, a global provider of email marketing and one-to-one marketing solutions, with headquarters in Indianapolis. ExactTarget’s software powers permission-based multi-channel communications for thousands of organizations around the world including Expedia.com, Aurora Fashions, Papa John’s, CareerBuilder.com, Gannett Co., Inc., The Home Depot and Wellpoint, Inc.
Tichy is founder and president of Bunker Hill Designs, a company that creates,
develops and maintains Web sites for small to midsize businesses,
university departments and non-profit agencies.
During his time at Indiana State, he served as the Student Government Association's executive for special projects and student initiatives. In that capacity, he chaired a team that developed regulations and procedures for the new Student Recreation Center. ichy was also; chair of the student information technology advisory committee; co-chair of public relations for Homecoming 2009; a guide for the Office of Admissions; a member of the university's athletic committee; and a university assistant who served as liaison between the College of Business and future students. Tichy received a Focus Indiana Scholarship, funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc., and the Welby M. and Francis C. Frantz Scholarship.
Tichy has worked as an intern with InfraWare Inc., a medical
transcription software company that is a client business of Indiana
State's Center for Business Support and Economic Innovation and the
ISU-based Terre Haute Innovation Alliance.
