Indiana State University Insurance and Risk Management majors and minors
benefit from numerous opportunities for hands-on experience each summer. The
practical experience and knowledge gained by summer interns is invaluable in
preparing them for professional entry-level positions.
In addition to internships arranged through the program, ISU students historically have competed successfully for
national summer internships sponsored by industry organizations such as the
National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, Spencer
Educational Foundation, and Intermediaries and Reinsurance Underwriters
Association, Inc.
Internships are the real-world experiences that complement our classroom
instruction and make Indiana State students so well prepared for their
future careers. When industry partners open their doors to our students and
invite them in for specialized internship opportunities, they are telling us
that they believe in our program and our students. More often than not,
these internships lead to permanent positions. What better compliment could
our students have than that?
