A unique student organization is attracting attention at Indiana State University. [Join our group on Facebook] Team Sycamore Racing, officially formed in January of 2007, was established to give ISU students the ultimate hands-on experience. Students affiliated with the team are operating, managing and driving the TSR dragster at area speedways as an official National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) team, starting this season
Kyle
Neisen, an automotive technology management and business
administration major, initiated the team's creation, and it has been
in high gear every since. The team is advised by Randell Peters,
assistant professor of industrial and mechanical technology and
coordinator of the automotive technology management program.
But, Team Sycamore Racing isn't just for students interested in cars.
It brings together students from many disciplines, such as finance, accounting, insurance, marketing, business administration, graphic design and sport management, in addition to the more traditional racing disciplines such as manufacturing, safety management, mechanical engineering, electronics technology, and, of course, automotive technology.
