Gamma Iota Sigma
Gamma Iota Sigma [1] - The purpose of this fraternity is to promote, encourage, and sustain student interest in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science as professions; to encourage the high moral and scholastic attainments of its members; and to facilitate interaction of educational institutions and industry through networking and by fostering research activities, scholarship, and improved public relations. Alpha Epsilon is Indiana State's chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma and was chartered in February 1990.

Insurance and Risk Management Honors Corps
The mission of the IRM Honor Corps is to recognize outstanding academic achievement by Insurance and Risk Management majors and minors; to mentor outstanding Insurance and Risk Management majors and minors and to enhance the connectivity between Insurance, and Risk Management professionals and outstanding ISU Insurance and Risk Management majors and minors.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Declared major or minor in Insurance and Risk Management or Pre-Business/Insurance and Risk Management
Gamma Iota Sigma member (waiver available if active member in an organization of the student's major)
Students are granted automatic membership first semester following admission to ISU as a:
- President's Scholar
- Networks Scholar
- Alumni Scholar
- Gongaware Scholar
Second Semester or later at Indiana State University acquire and maintain a 3.6 overall Grade Point Average
Expected (not required) to work in a paid summer internship during the summer after sophomore or junior year
PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERSHIP
Small group dinners with Insurance and Risk Management industry executives
Peer mentoring by upper class members of the Insurance and Risk Management Honors Corps
May apply for second tier internship after junior year
Insurance and Risk Management Faculty will coordinate requests for insurance and risk management coursework to count as honors courses through the ISU Honors Program
