Credential and Letter of Recomendation Requests

Credentials (Education Majors Only)

Effective July 2006, the Career Center houses credential files for five years only. Those files with no activity in five years after graduation will be shredded at the end of each academic year. Only those alumni who have previously requested credentials to be sent, or those who have added current references to their files, will remain in active status at this time.

After establishing a credential file, you may request that this important information be photocopied and forwarded to prospective employers (by mail or fax).  Original references are kept housed in an individual’s folder. In case employers ask, all folders are filed in alphabetical order by year of graduation and do not have a special “file number or code”. Credentials include student teaching evaluations and letters of reference (see Recommendation Statement below) for education majors, but official transcripts ARE NOT included. Contact the Office of Registration and Records for instructions on how to obtain copies of your official transcript for a small fee. The Career Center DOES NOT currently charge fees for current student or alumni credential services.
