Multidisciplinary Studies Degree Requirements

Requirements to Declare the Multidisciplinary Studies Major:

● Admission to the Multidisciplinary Studies major is granted to all new freshmen admitted unconditionally to the university

● Admission to the Multidisciplinary Studies major is granted to transfer and continuing students who have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 in all prior undergraduate coursework

● Students seeking the Bachelor of Arts must complete two years of study in a single foreign language

● All students must fulfill the requirements of the Foundational Studies program

● All students must submit a proposal for the Multidisciplinary Studies Concentration to:

     Multidisciplinary Studies

     HH 291 / (812) 237-2713

Requirements to Propose a Multidisciplinary Studies Concentration:

● The Multidisciplinary Studies concentration requires a minimum of 42 credit hours

● No more than 24 credit hours may be taken in a single discipline

● The concentration must include 21 hours of 300 or 400-level courses

● Multidisciplinary Studies majors must earn a minimum grade point average of 2.5 in the Multidisciplinary Studies concentration

● Multidisciplinary Studies majors must submit a Multidisciplinary Studies Concentration Proposal Form to Multidisciplinary Programs no later than the end of the semester after admission to the program. If approved by the Multidisciplinary Studies faculty, the student may proceed with the curriculum.

● Once approved, the Multidisciplinary Studies Concentration Proposal constitutes the program of study for the major; any subsequent changes in the concentration proceed through the standard petition and review process.
